show.Rooms_local PERFORMATIVE URBAN HISTORY I

4th .-8th June 2019 | Villach AT

26 stories by people who live or have lived in Villach and write about "their" city.  In the book of the same name, they tell of places that are relevant to their own life stories. In this way, new place names are created that overwrite the original places and streets. The 2019 book presentation as well as workshops on biography work, storytelling and a panel on participatory art formats and memory culture enriched this approach to reflecting on communicative and cultural memory. What is visible in a city in statues and street names and what remains invisible or in the shadows, like the lives and work of women.
As an intervention in public space, authors read and told (about) their story in the "story corner".
