Fempath 1

BIOGRAPHICAL FEMPATH 1

8. Mar. 2019 Villach AT

On International Women's Day, eight historical figures from Villach, as well as eight women currently living in Villach, told their stories.

The aim and interest of both interventions in public space are the visualization of marginalized and invisible biographies and to address omissions from a historical perspective, as well as current representations.

In the Biographical Fempath 1, the historical women Elisabeth Eipek-Dinzl, Rosa Ermacora, Gertrude Gabler, Maria Gornik, Dora Kircher, Marie Leopold, Mathilde Martens and Anna Neumann, who lived in Villach, came alive as Living Sculptures presented by regional actresses and performers. This was done as a performed life story in front of the house or in the street where the historical women had lived, culminating in a concluding performance at the main square of Villach. The audience, as well as passers-by, learned more about the historical biographies and also immersed themselves in encounters with the performers.
