Residencies
As part of show.Rooms, a residency is awarded two times a year, where a performative installation with participatory elements is created by regional and national artists in and around the show.Rooms Lab. The installation or setting remains on-site for one to two months.
Resicence: September 12 till October 7, 2025. Kerstin Bennier
Title: 51.100
In 2023, around 85,000 women and girls were murdered worldwide, more than half by their close family members. That's an average of 140 femicides per day. Kerstin Bennier is making these shocking statistics visible as part of a multi-day residency at schau.Räume in Villach. With her participatory installation 51.100, she creates a fragile and expansive visual approach to the topic and invites the public to participate in the subsequent exhibition.
Opening of the intervention on Friday, September 12 at 7 pm, schau.Räume, Draupromenade 6, Villach.
Opening hours: Tuesdays, 10 am - 2 pm and Thursdays, 2 pm - 6 pm. Exhibition duration until Tuesday, October 7.

Residence 27. September 2024 till 10. November 2024. Barbara Ambrusch-Rapp
Titel: „Liebe Grüße aus Villach ein fempath_global in New York City“
The 2nd residency by Barbara Ambrusch-Rapp entitled “Liebe Grüße aus Villach - a fempath_global in New York City" took place in fall 2024. The project was shown and realized in two parts in the lab of show.Rooms: On the one hand, as a performative installation entitled “guerrilla art exhibition”. On the other hand, a performance was realized as a performative intervention in public space at the finissage. In the run-up to the performance, visitors of the exhibition were able to name places in Villach that were then used by Barbara Ambrusch-Rapp as performance locations. The concern and interest of the exhibition and performance was the lack of representation of historical women in public space. Carddesign: Sheida Samyi, Guerilla Art Exhibition und Performance: Barbara Ambrusch-Rapp, Costume: Michaela Wuggenig
