8. Mar. 2023 Villach AT

A participatory artwork as a social sculpture in public space emerged from a story of biographical storytelling and there was an opportunity to join this intervention. 

What history/stories connects us? On which shoulders do we stand? 

In advance of the event, stories from the participants were collected in biography workshops. These concerend the topics of feminism and personal experiences conected to March 8. One story was selected and presented in three parts as a sculpture by two actors from the applied theater. Starting from the show.Rooms OFFICE + LAB at Draupromenade 6 in Villach, the story was performed at two other locations in the city center of Villach. At each of the three locations, an additional sculpture is formed around the story in the shape of the female symbol, represented by the actors of the applied theater. Passers-by were invited to join the participatory artwork as a social sculpture and to help expand it. At all locations, questions about the sculpture and March 8th were posed.
