Book presentation - photos
“My story has become liquid and has left solitary confinement. Now it marbles with the colors of other life stories and steps out of the loneliness of wordlessness and wants to be told.”
Preparations are in full swing, the layout is getting the finishing touches! The publication “Queer-feminist city history(ies) from Villach/Beljak and Klagenfurt/Celovec a kind of graphicNOVEL” is currently being finalized. It contains 19 biographical queer-feminist stories that invite you to get to know the two cities from a personal perspective. The stories were written by the performers of two schau.Räume productions and edited as a graphic novel.

Intervention
“The New Ones" - photos
An intervention in public pace centered around the children's book of the same name by Susanna Isern and Sonja Wimmer, published by Carl-Auer Verlag, which deals with deportation and inclusion and offers two different endings. This book is the starting point for three interventions that performatively retrace the content in public space: Characters from the book appear immersive as animal masks and deal scenically with questions of arrival, migration and inclusion. After each intervention, there will be an opportunity for a follow-up discussion in the schau.Räume, Draupromenade 6, Villach. Director: Katrin Ackerl Konstantin. Performers: Amalia Contarini, Martina Konrad, Rosalia Kopeinig, Maria Leeb, Barbara Ambrusch-Rapp and Anita Winkler. Assistance Mitch Münzer. The actors are players of the applied theater of schau.Räume as well as performers of the -freakout Tanztheater-. In cooperation with the Gymnasium St. Martin/Villach and Theresa Pasterk, there will also be a workshop with pupils.

“PostBalkan"
Post-migrant. Post-Muslim. Post-Balkan.
These are not labels - they are statements. They stand for lifestyles that cannot be reduced to origin, religion or migration history. They arise from all of this - but do not remain stuck in it.These terms break expectations. They undermine common categories and demand new narratives. They create space for contradictions, for ambivalences - for a self-image that does not have to be constantly explained or legitimized. What they have in common is a critical attitude towards social attributions. They reject the role of the “other” - and inscribe themselves in the middle of plural societies. Reflexive. Multi-layered. Beyond folklore of origin and integration rhetoric.
show.Rooms_regional are regional performative interventions in several vacant commercial spaces dedicated to a marginalized topic.
From November 29 till December 10, 2025 show.Rooms is realizing a show.Rooms_regional event series entitled PostBalkan. Preparatory biography workshops take place throughout the year. They are offered monthly on different topics and provide the opportunity to participate.
