Workshopseries: Argumentation Training

A series of workshops presented by schau.Räume Villach and GemSe
Democracy doesn’t begin in parliaments. It manifests itself in everyday life: at the family dinner table, among friends, at work, or in community organizations. Wherever discriminatory remarks are made, conflicts arise, or different perspectives clash, we need people who remain capable of taking action.
Through three different formats, schau.Räume and GemSe create spaces for learning, exchanging ideas, and experimenting. Together, we explore how we can act in solidarity, share knowledge, and take on social responsibility—without simple answers, but with concrete tools for everyday life.

Argumentation Training
Dates: September 17 & November 26, 2026 | 5-9 pm. | schau.Räume, Villach/Beljak
How do I respond to racist or discriminatory remarks? When is it worth having a discussion—and when is it more important to set boundaries or support those affected? This training provides concrete strategies for action and builds confidence in dealing with discrimination.

Skill-Sharing Weekend
Dates: February 25 till 28th | GemSe, Wertschach/Dvorče, Gailtal
Four days of learning, cooking, hiking, and sharing knowledge together. The focus is on group facilitation, conflict and communication methods, and tools for self-managed projects, organizations, and social movements. A weekend for anyone who wants to consciously shape collaboration.

Decolonial Thinking
Dates: January 21, 2027 | 5-9 p.m. | schau.Räume, Villach/Beljak
What patterns of thought continue to shape our knowledge today? Where do colonial power structures persist in language, education, culture, or climate policy? This workshop offers an accessible introduction to decolonial educational work and opens up new perspectives on social contexts.

Theater for the youngest

We’re excited to kick off the fall with a new format: schau.Räumchen, which is designed as a “Theater-from-the-very-Beginning!” program for children between the ages of 1 and 3 and their caregivers, offering a different way to experience theater from the very start—through participation and interaction, as well as by bringing marginalized topics to the forefront. 

“Salat” invites you to view the world from a new perspective—not as the center, but as part of a diverse community in which even the smallest life forms have their place. It is a Performative installation with live music and dedicated for children ages 6 to 24 months | Duration: approx. 35 minutes + 15 minutes to linger. More details….

“Colors Spark the Imagination” is a musical and performative experience which asks what happens when colors become sounds and music creates images. It is dedicated for children ages 1.5 to 4 | Duration: approx. 35 minutes. More details….

Dates: Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026 | 4:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 15, 2026 | 10:00 a.m.

schau.Räumchen continues to grow: In collaboration with Tanzbüro, a Research Lab will begin in November to develop initial ideas for a new production in 2027. A space for collaborative exploration, experimentation, and the search for new forms of theater for the very youngest children. Are you interested in participating with your child aged 1–2? Applied theater is offered as an intensive workshop with theater techniques. be come pART! 

The dates are regularely offered throughout the year
on the third Friday of the month, 4 pm till 7 pm

FREAK OUT Dance training

FREAK OUT Dance training is contemporary dance for an inclusive society. The regular offer is in cooperation with Lebenshilfe Ledenitzen and is aimed at people with and without special needs who are interested in dance. be come pART!

The training sessions are held regularly twice a month on Wednesdays from 10:30 - 12:30

Trainings: Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Dates in September: 16th and 23rd of September

show.Rooms is part at the exhibition of the Council of Europe

“The virtual mapping of the unseen” which is part of a show.Rooms research project, was selected for the digital exhibition of the European Council titeled „Free to create – create to be Free“ (70th anniversary on convention of human rights). The project was selected as the Austrian contribution by an expert team of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport, the Austrian Commission for UNESCO and the Austrian Working Group for Cultural Diversity.
