show.Rooms_regional: AND/I
From November 29 to December 10, 2025, vacant commercial sites in Villach/Beljak will be transformed into temporary performance and discourse spaces. The focus will be on the terms post-migrant, post-Muslim, and post-Balkan—not labels, but statements. They speak of life paths that transcend origin, religion, or migration history, transforming these experiences into sources of new expressions of culture, connection, and belonging. The audience will be guided through various rooms, accompanied by guides from the biographical storytelling workshops. These workshops form the basis of the artistic work – they open up spaces for storytelling and listening, in which personal experiences are interwoven with social issues.
Each tour lasts around 70 minutes and takes place on the following days: November 29, December 3, December 4, December 5, December 7, December 9, and December 10 – at 6:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. each day.

UND/I connects art, science, and civil society opening spaces for dialogue and perspectives on belonging, memory, and social participation. The project views migration not as an exception, but as an integral part of our shared reality. It demonstrates how movement creates community and how diversity shapes new forms of coexistence. The event series continues schau.Räume_regional's artistic exploration of socially marginalized topics in Carinthia/Koroška.

Intervention
“The New Ones" - photos from the two interventions: landing & arriving available here and a video
An intervention in public pace centered around the children's book of the same name by Susanna Isern and Sonja Wimmer, published by Carl-Auer Verlag, which deals with deportation and inclusion and offers two different endings. This book is the starting point for three interventions that performatively retrace the content in public space: Characters from the book appear immersive as animal masks and deal scenically with questions of arrival, migration and inclusion. After each intervention, there will be an opportunity for a follow-up discussion at schau.Räume, Draupromenade 6, Villach. Director: Katrin Ackerl Konstantin/Amalia Contarini. Performers: Amalia Contarini, Martina Konrad, Maria Leeb, Barbara Ambrusch-Rapp, Ingrid Türk-Chlapek and Anita Winkler. Assistance: Mitch Münzer/Rosalia Kopeinig. The actors are players of the applied theater of schau.Räume as well as performers of the -freakout Tanztheater-. In cooperation with the Gymnasium St. Martin/Villach and Theresa Pasterk, they will design different endings of this story.
Thursday, November 27, 16:00-17:00 “Staying” In front of schau.Räume, Draupromenade 6, follow-up talk: 18:00
The events and talks are free to attend and invite participation. They are part of the production schau.Räume_regional “UND/I” on the topic of PostBalkan, which will take place in vacant buildings in Villach in Fall.
