show.Rooms_global is dedicated to a global dialogue on discrimination and artistic freedom and was realized in Iran and Austria.

show.Rooms_global took place as the Mapping the Unseen 2021 research project in Iran and Austria. A guide made the connection to Tehran, as he lives in both Tehran and Villach. He suggested Mana Mira as a cooperation partner, who defined the marginalized topic of discrimination and artistic freedom: "I consulted with some artists and activists from the cultural field and asked them to share their experiences in their own way, resulting in a collection of images, illustrations and some filmed interviews. Before this sharing, I always thought that the main problem originated from the psychological taboos, self-censorship, spreading rumors about artists and society's isolation of people's thoughts and ideas...But now...Now I believe that all these problems and barriers can be summarized in one word and that is "discrimination". Discrimination acts like an invisible chain that is omnipresent and manifests itself in various forms." (Explanation Mana Mira) She subsequently curated an exhibition in Iran that could not be shown publicly due to the political situation and its restrictions. She conducted interviews with her fellow artists, which resulted in a film.

This show.Rooms_global with the research title “Mapping the Unseen” was funded by the FWF Austrian Science Fund (AR 444-GBL), KWF Carinthian Economic Promotion Fund, Province of Carinthia.
Supported and hosted by University Klagenfurt and show.Rooms.

Show.Rooms_global is an intervention in a vacancy of a city on a marginalized topic. The invited artists, artist group or scientists determine the topic. Afterwards, the project will be invited to Austria and parts of it will also be presented as an intervention.
