show.Rooms_regional temporarily intervened in vacant business premises in Klagenfurt and Villach in 2012 on the subject of deportation, involving artists, scholars, and NGOs from the region who work on this issue.

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the deportation of Carinthian Slovenes and in relation to the current biographical experiences of women in relation to deportation, twelve vacant buildings and public spaces in Villach and Klagenfurt (Lidmanskygasse and Bahnhofstraße/Klagenfurt, Klagenfurterstraße and Bahnhofstraße/Villach) were used for regional interdisciplinary contributions from art, sciences and associations. The focus was the topic of deportations in 1942 and 2012. Every evening, the public was guided through these spaces in small groups and experienced installations, short performances and discussions. In total, these guided tours lasted around 1 1/2 hours. The audience was accompanied by guides, people who had themselves experienced deportation. They were prepared for their work as guides in biography workshops.
