QUEERILING! -queer bridges-

9. and 10. Jun. 2023 Villach AT || 19. May - 16. Jun. 2023 Villach AT

Queeriling is a queer event series on the topic of LGBTIQA+ and LGBTIQA+ Allies.

For two days in 2023, the door to show.Rooms Draubrücke opened and transformed Villach into a Pride Village that celebrated queer diversity and became a place of encounter and solidarity.

Workshop and intervention:
After a warm up by the applied theater, "Walk the Walk" led through the open show.Rooms door installation into an area that stretched from the rainbow crosswalk in Gerbergasse to the rainbow crosswalk at the main train station. The audience walked in pairs, as a same-sex couple, hand in hand, in public space and were sent on an experiential walk. In the "nach.Hallen und chill out" in the SAFE SPACE of show.Rooms, participants were invited to reflect, using questions such as: How does it feel to walk through the city hand in hand as a queer couple? Do I encounter a smile, a joyful or uncomprehending look?

Performances:
Gridchen Pliessnig performed "Ich bin natürlich vielfältig!" (I am naturally diverse!) on the Draubrücke (bridge), showing the development of a rose veil fairy wrasse that changes gender over the course of its life. Drag queen Asta, performed by Frank Piotraschke, took to the Draubrücke with her performance "In search of the Pride Village" and kept an eye out for PRIDE in the city of Villach. With her homage to Dame Edna, she paid tribute to personalities of the LGBTIQA movement and recalled the milestones of the Pride movement worldwide. Afterwards there was another "nach.Hallen und chill out" in the Pride Village of the show.Rooms.

The events were accompanied by biography workshops
