show.Rooms_global was dedicated to a global dialogue on LGBTIQ and was realized in Zagreb and Klagenfurt.

show.Rooms_global took place as the research project Mapping the Unseen 2019 in Croatia and 2020 in Austria. The connection to Zagreb was established by the guide Dina Ivan, as she lived in both Klagenfurt and Zagreb. Dina suggested the association Vox feminae/Common Zone as a cooperation partner, which defined the marginalized topic of LGBTIQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersexual, queer): "The re-traditionalization of Croatian society in the areas of politics, media and education is followed by a re-traditionalization of culture and contemporary artistic expressions. (...) This social upheaval is hitting the LGBTIQ community particularly hard." (Statement Vox feminae/Common Zone). As a result, Vox feminae/Common Zone designed and curated a one-week program of exhibitions, workshops, performances, film screenings, discussions and lectures in an apartment building in downtown Zagreb at Dordićeva 8a/II in two vacant offices of YIHR.Hub.

This show.Rooms_global project with the research title “Mapping the Unseen” was funded by: FWF Austrian Science Fund (AR 444-GBL), KWF Carinthian Economic Promotion Fund, Land Carinthia.

Supported and hosted by University Klagenfurt.

show.Rooms_global is an intervention in a vacancy of a city on a marginalized topic. The invited artists or artist group determine the topic. Afterwards, the project is invited to Austria.
